On July12th 2023, Ethiopia hosted the round table dedicated to the Second Russia-Africa Forum

The main topic of the discussion was trade and economic co-operation and partnership in the social and humanitarian spheres between Russia and Africa. Participants from 25 countries joined the event.

Among the speakers were Evgeny Terekhin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Ethiopia; Igor Morozov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee for Economic Cooperation with Africa (AFROCOM); Ilya Nesterov, Head of the External Relations Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; NJ Ayuk, Chairman of the African Energy Chamber; Ekaterina Kiseleva, Deputy CEO for Development of Kundalinik; Alexander Makarov, CEO of TraceCORE; Yeleni Kisheleva, Director of the Climate Initiatives and Carbon Management function of SIBUR

"The digitalization of Africa is attracting particular attention from Russians. We live in a digital world and, certainly, the future of civilisation lies in the digital economy. For 20 years, digital transformation has been underway in all regions of Russia. Russia has the world's best B2B and B2C digital platforms for product labelling and educational services, and Moscow has become the best city in the world for comfortable living and digitalization of services offered. Only Toronto and Singapore are in the top three. We really have something to share with our African partners, especially since they are ready for new experience: the African Continental Free Trade Zone has started operating, science and technology parks and IT clusters are being created in many countries of the continent, including Ethiopia," said Igor Morozov, Chairman of the Coordination Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM).

The round table was organised by the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation with the support of AFROCOM and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
