During their visit to Djibouti, the delegation headed by Chairman of AFROCOM, Russian Senator Igor Morozov and Executive Director of the Committee Stanislav Mezentsev had a number of important meetings with top officials of the country. The goal of these meetings is to build strong economic, cultural and spiritual ties between Russia and Djibouti.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti, M.A. Yusuf confirmed the Djibouti’s intention and readiness to intensify its relations with Russia, and he also expressed interest in deepening the level of economic cooperation.
On the same day Igor Morozov met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Djibouti, and they both exchanged their views on different issues and they confirmed their readiness for active cooperation.
The AFROCOM delegation had talks with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Djibouti, Yu.M. Dawale, the Friendship Group "Djibouti-Russia", the Minister of Higher Education and Science A.H. Ali, the Secretary of State for Investment and Private Sector Development S.M. Gadile.
These meetings identified the main areas of cooperation between Djibouti and Russia, with a special emphasis on the cooperation of the Djiboutian side with the representatives of the domestic regional business in such sectors as agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, tourism, banking and information technology.
During his visit to Ethiopia, the Chairman of AFROCOM, Russian Senator Igor Morozov, together with the Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin, held several important meetings to strengthen economic, spiritual and cultural ties between the countries.
In particular, negotiations were held with the Speaker of the Ethiopian Federation Council, Agegnehu Gessese, and the Head of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Lelis Nem Sori.
