The opening ceremony was attended by AFROCOM Chairman, Russian Senator Igor Morozov, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin, AFROCOM Executive Director Stanislav Mezentsev, Ethiopian government representatives, the head of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church foreign policy department Tewahdo Abune Aregawi, Secretary of the Holy Cross Department for inter-Christian relations Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov).

AFROCOM Chairman Igor Morozov stated that the opening of this Office will have a vital role in facilitation of trade and investment between Ethiopia and Russia.

For his part, Ambassador Evgeny Terekhin said that the AFROCOM center will steer the historically friendly bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Russia to a higher level, especially in the trade and economic spheres.
