Russian and Egyptian presidents discuss development of cooperation
One of the topics of Vladimir Putin's telephone conversation with Abdelfattah Sisi was the project to build Egypt's first nuclear power plant, El-Dabaa, which will be located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, about 300 km northwest of Cairo. As part of the project, ROSATOM will train about 1,700 Egyptian specialists by 2028.

Another important topic of conversation was the creation of a Russian industrial and industrial zone near the Suez Canal. This project, unique in Russian-African relations, was widely presented at the World Expo 2020. The investment in it amounts to $7 billion.

Abdelfattah Sisi also confirmed that Egypt will participate as a guest country in the 25th Anniversary St Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on 15-18 June 2022.

It is worth recalling that on 20 December Russian presidential adviser Anton Kobyakov and Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Nazih Naggari held a meeting in Moscow. The parties noted the success of the Year of Humanitarian Cooperation between Russia and Egypt, which was officially launched in Cairo in June this year. Some 200 events are planned as part of the initiative.
