Senegal to host first overseas art session of Innopraktika and Russian Seasons School
From May 2 to 13, Dakar will host an art exhibition piloted by the Innopraktika and Russian Seasons School with the support of the National School of Arts of Senegal. The capital of Senegal will host 16 talented painters and sculptors from 7 African countries: Cameroon, Republic of Guinea, Burundi, Senegal, Tunisia, Republic of Congo and DRC. Students will create artworks on a given topic under the guidance of four professors from the Ilya Repin Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.

The training will take place at the Place of African Remembrance, a large cultural cluster. The curriculum will include lectures on the history and basics of the Russian school of painting and architecture. Besides theoretical classes, practical ones are also scheduled: participants will be working on an art piece for two weeks, reflecting on the session’s topic: "Creativity Unites: Preserving Global Values". The session will conclude with a qualification work presented at an exhibition in Dakar.

"We have received over 100 applications from young painters and sculptors who were eager to discover the world of Russian art. It is worth noting that many African countries show a real interest in Russian culture, which is one of the reasons for organizing the session in Senegal," said Alexei Lebedev, director of the project "Russian Seasons".
