On 14 March, Chairman of AFROCOM, Russian Senator Igor Morozov held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to the Russian Federation Tarak Ben Salem.

The parties discussed the prospects for developing relations between Russia and Tunisia in the context of the sanctions regime, and identified the main areas for business cooperation.

Tunisia is interested in cooperation with Russian regional business; Tarak Ben Salem already held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Bashkiria, Andrey Nazarov, in December 2021.
